Just before the mighty Columbia River flows into the Pacific Ocean, this bridge between Oregon and Washington defines the river’s transition to the sea. Local residents and tourists alike gather at this high point to picnic and experience the glorious spectacle of day passing off to night. This bridge symbolizes our strong desire to connect and work with others and to overcome obstacles that prevent it.
The historic small town below this point holds a special place in my heart because it was the first place my wife and I went after being married. And it is where one of my sons was married in what was a perfect ceremony.
