Day’s End

I once had a conversation with a renowned wildlife photographer where we talked about how an image could bring back the smell, sound, and feel of a moment. This is one of those photos. I can feel the wind brushing across my face and the smell of the sea. I can hear the musical rattle of small gravel being rolled around on the beach, like marbles in a jar. The sound rising and falling in time to the waves as they gently flood over the sand before fading back into the sea. It’s a zone where neither the sea nor land fully rule.
