Camping Beneath the Splendor of Mt. Rainier

Can life get better? Spending a night camped with a dramatic view of snowcapped Mt. Rainier. Even from a long distance, Mt. Rainier dominates western Washington. Massive glaciers slowly grind away the slopes of the great peak as they scrape their way down the mountain. Across this snow-fed lake tents sit on the edge of a 300 foot drop into the forested canyon below. The tents give scale to this view. The stateliness of Mt. Rainier is on full display. The lake’s color is result of run-off from the snowfields surrounding three sides of the lake.

I’ve been fortunate enough to spend more than a few nights in places such as this. Sometimes it just doesn’t seem possible it is all real.
